Heaven In Michigan

We just returned from a wonderful family vacation to and the Upper Peninsula in Michigan. Our bishop, Brian Hamrick, had served part of his mission there, and he gave us some great recommendations on places to visit. We drove to Minneapolis the first night and stayed two nights there next to the Mall of America. Then in Michigan we stayed in two different places, first in a wonderful lake house near Munising, and then in a condo in Mackinaw City. The weather was perfect throughout staying right around 70 degrees, which I loved.

Some trip highlights:

-The amusement park in the Mall of America. The SpongeBob roller coaster was my fave.

-The lake house! Absolutely beautiful! It was very secluded and the house was very nice.

-Making smores by the lake and listening to our voices echo.

-Making homemade pizza in the bakers oven in the fireplace.

-Watching 2 entire seasons of LOST during the trip.

-Skipping rocks on Lake Superior.

-The Pictured Rocks boat tour. Wow!

-Taquamenon Falls.

-The Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point.

-The Fish and Chips made with Lake Superior Whitefish. Yummy!

-Mackinac Island - My dream home is waiting there.

-Biking all the way around Mackinac Island and looking at all the beautiful homes.

-Zip lining at the Discovery Nature Center.

We had a great time and made lifetime memories! The only thing that would have made this vacation better would have been for Matt to be there. It was strange not having him with us!!
